ABSTRACT This paper analyzes the inductive action of the Brazilian Courts of Accounts regarding the implementation of the Education Plans. Initially, it is presented that the education of children, adolescents and young people has absolute priority in the BrazilianConstitution, being regulated by the Law of Guidelines and Bases of National Education and by the National Education Plans of 2001 and 2014. Despite this fact, the results obtained both in access and in learning are still below the nationally defined goals, suffering greater aggravation due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Considering that the Courts of Accounts verify the proper application of public resources, it allows these bodies to exert an inductive action in terms of improvements in educational results. Thus, in addition to the efforts undertaken individually by each Court, the actions at the national level carried out by the Association of Members of the Courts of Accounts in Brazil - Atricon and the Rui Barbosa Institute – IRB are highlighted, with emphasis on the activities of the Technical Committee on Education of the Rui Barbosa Institute. This Committee has been mobilizing the Brazilian Courts of Accounts to adopt measures aimed at complying with education plans, involving the editing of technical notes, preparation of studies, production of guidance booklets, training for public managers, among other initiatives, with special focus, from 2020, to the mitigation of the impacts of the pandemic on Brazilian education.
